Presentation

The NMR facility operates 6 high-field NMR instruments at magnetic field strengths ranging from 600 MHz (14 T) to 950 MHz (22 T), equipped with state-of-the-art solution NMR (cryogenic probes, sample changers), and solid state NMR (high-speed MAS probes) capabilities.

The NMR facility provides access to national users since 1997, and the 950 MHz instrument is part of the French research infrastructure Infranalytics (FR 3050).

At the European level, the NMR facility of IBS (with its regional NMR partner in Lyon) has taken part between 2006and 2024 in several successive European I3 access programs. Currently access is provided via INSTRUCT-ERIC.

The NMR facility provides access to NMR instruments, as well as the expertise needed for NMR data acquisition and processing.

NMR equipment

  • 950 MHz and 700 MHz solution/solid-state NMR instruments with cryoprobes and MAS probes
  • 850 MHz with solution cryoprobes
  • Three 600 MHz instruments with varying configurations for solution and solid-state NMR.
  • 4 of the NMR instruments are equipped with automatic sample changers (24 positions) for solution applications.
  • An in-situ illumination device allows the study of light-induced conformational changes in proteins and biochemical reactions.

Access mode and costs

Invoiced NMR access is available to both academic and industrial users. For more information or to discuss the feasibility of your project, please contact the platform via email.

The 950 MHz NMR instrument is accessible to academic and industrial (under certain conditions) users free of charge (including travel costs and accommodation). For more information visit the Infranalytics website.

Subsidized access for European users to all NMR instruments can be obtained via INSTRUCT-ERIC.

Location

IBS building (NMR hall)
