Instruments

The IBS/ISBG electron microscopy platform is equipped with transmission electron microscopes, cryogenic imaging systems, a cryo-focused ion beam/scanning electron microscope, and dedicated sample-preparation instruments.

Together, these instruments support a broad range of applications, from negative staining and conventional cellular electron microscopy to single-particle cryo-EM, cryo-electron tomography, MicroED, CEMOVIS, cryo-FIB milling, correlative microscopy, and high-pressure freezing.

Instrument selection and sample-preparation workflows are adapted to the specimen, the scientific objective, and the level of structural preservation or resolution required.
